December 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of In Ruin as a band. "Apparitions & Emptiness" brings together ten handpicked and remastered songs from across those 20 years that provide a retrospective for current fans and a good entry-point for new listeners.

From the weighty darkness of recent recordings "Megin Runar" and "Ah! Sunflower," the melancholic folk rock of songs like "Waters" and "Frustration," all the way to the melodramatic neofolk of "Always Faithful" and "Seeds of the Past," each track embodies the uneasy, ghostly sadness ever-present on each In Ruin release.
